Martin Finnin is an Irish painter based in West Cork. Over more than three decades, he has developed a distinctive body of work shaped by atmosphere, colour, texture, light and visual memory.

Working primarily in oil paint, he build his paintings slowly in layers, often over months or years, allowing time, memory and the unfolding life of the painting itself to guide the process.

Informed by extensive travel and long periods spent living and working in Italy and Berlin, his paintings absorb the characters of different places without describing them directly. His work is less about depicting landscape than rediscovering it through sustained attention, uncertainty and paint.
